dammit.
Anyone else doing SPX this weekend?

Possibly Chromeo on Sunday, I can't decide.
anyone seeing PINBACK tonite? Did they sell out the BC last time?
Ugh I so don't feel like making the haul down to the Velvet tonight and getting back at around 3-ish.

But Paul Flaherty hasn't played in DC for years and probably won't be back any time soon.

Decisions…
Also looking for Fleet Foxes ticket. I've decided Glasvegas blows.

saw glasvegas last night open for Echo & the Bunnymen. Cant say Im a huge fan, and they wont stick out in my mind but it was ok. A friend said that they reminded him of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and not as much, but The Mighty Lemondrops.

he's right, they sound almost just like Red Lorry Yellow Lorry.
different opinions here:

two people have commented that they liked the 2006 performance better - wasn't that the disappointing show you went to? :)

wanderlust, i saw pinback on wed. they were freaking epic. have to admit, the only songs i know of theirs are the ones on myspace because i'm extremely new to them, but what can i say? ever since I moved to the district, i've just been checking out bands that are playing here and going to see the ones i like so far. i'm sure i'll become a huge pinback fan in the near future. they were outstanding.
Brand new week:
Nick Cave (tonight)
Imaginational Anthem Showcase
Shudder to Think
Wire

Who gots my Hot Chip extra?
Was planning on picking one up tonight. :(
New week con't

Monday: The Kills
Wednesday: Possibly Hot Chip (pending i can get a ticket)
Thursday: Of Montreal
Saturday: Wire
can't believe azaghal is skipping Of Montreal.

I'll be at:

Against Me/Ted Leo/FUTURE OF THE LEFT
Of Montreal
Wire

possibly Shudder to Think also.
Of Montreal pissed me off last time with their sloppy playing/heavy reliance on pre-recorded samples as Kevin played dressup the last time I saw them. I'll stick to the studio work, thankyouverymuch.

Miss P, *possibly* Hot Chip? Does this mean you could have a ticket to part with?

lol. no its dependent on whether i can get a ticket too. i've seen them twice and its still not enough - such a good time live.
thursday…of montreal.
:)
although not a fan of the new album.
Sunday - Nick Cave
Tuesday - The Residents
Wednesday - Against Me/Ted Leo
Friday - Shudder To Think
Saturday - Wire
the only thing that matters to me is hot chip on wed. nothing else, meaning food, water, or air, need apply for my attention.
I wonder how Hot Chip fans will react to Growing.

i normally don't show early for first acts, but the presense of hot chip will force me to be there after doors open. i hope growing is worth it.
Think Phish's ambient/drone jams of the late 90's/00/03 turned up to 11 with a lot more looping.
a few of the wailers on wed at the state…
