This week rollcall

Unless a show is utterly horrendous to a point where I'm considering walking out, I save my bitching until the end. Since last night wasn't anywhere near that, you would've enjoyed it all just fine without interruption.
Agreed that Bat for Lashes was impressive. I hadn't heard much from her but the live set surpassed anything I had heard online. And yes - the drummer was excellent.

Going to see OLP tonite in order to maintain my Canadian citizenship. I saw them at the Ottawa Bluesfest last month and they really impressed me. They took a lot of flak for the previous two albums and what I heard of Burn Burn is definitely more like the early stuff. Looking forward to it.
I'll be at OLP tonight as well and maybe the thing at Velvet tomorrow.

And then nothing for a while. Ugh…boring august.
azagh- enjoy Our Lady Poop. Your music taste have really come a long, dirty way!
how long did the trash cans play in DC? They put on an excellent show in NYC. I liked that you could buy a recording of the show right after the set. They played a good 2 hour set. Paul had this ingenius idea that anytime someone yelled out a song - he'd play a few seconds of it on the guitar. He said he was in a teasing mood, and Frank was wondering what the hell was wrong with him. It was pretty amusing, but rather mean at the same time. I really liked their new stuff, but wished theyd played just a few more of their earlier songs.

seems theyre playing 18-20 songs on all nights – very cool.

Trash Can Sinatras started rough. Lots of feedback during the first three songs, but eventually they pulled it off. Great to hear the older songs…not so sure about the new songs…

I enjoyed Bat For Lashes immensely  ;D    great band backing her up esp. the drummer. So into her more danceable songs than the slow ones.

this week: Dungen/Woods at Ottobar, Breeders at Black Cat…anything else I'm missing?
seeing the breeders for the 1st time this friday at black cat.  this is going to be good.  8)

Sorry; am new to the forum… Is this a list of shows this week?  If so where are the White Rabbits playing?

Thanks!
yes, this is a thread where people share what shows they're seeing this week… helps with making sure you're not missing anything :)

where did you see white rabbits?  i think you might have been looking at an old post.  please check the date.  posts aren't deleted, so last week's rollcall (and the week before that, and before that, and…) is still posted here.

edit: looks like WR were here back in june.
Didn't white rabbits just open for Fiery Furnaces (or vice versa). I know they did in Richmond on Sunday.
No, it was Wye Oak here.

Oh, that's weird. I know they were doing co-headlining in Richmond and Carrboro. Hmm.
I'll be at the Breeders on Friday night.  Haven't seen them since they played the ottobar forever ago!
The Breeders tomorrow should be fun, I'll be there
Question: Does The Amps show sometime like ten years ago at the 930 count as a Breeders show?
White Rabbits are actually playing next week in Charlottesville, VA - Wednesday

did the amps play 9:30? pretty sure it was black cat. there was a breeders show at 930 sometime in 1997, i think the openers were jonathan fire*eater, brendan benson and lutefisk. but that was a while ago, i could be wrong.

No I do not believe there was a Breeders show at the 930 in 1997. ..that was probably the Amps show I was referring to…

I say this because I was a huge Breeders fan at the time and I dont' recall them playing.. I thought it was Kim and Kelley with the Amps

Again I could be wrong.. my mom threw away my ticket stubs when i left them with her so I cannot be sure………
