This week rollcall

Forgot about that Baroness show. I swore I'd never go back to RNRH but they're supposed to be amazing live.

Next week is a good one; I'm calling it my last show hurrah:

Sunday: Devo
Monday: Devo, if I can muster if
Thursday: The Jesus Lizard
Friday: The Jesus Lizard at Sonar

Anyone not hitting one of those JL shows is an idiot.  There, I said it.
i'm traveling next week for work.  i'll have royksopp in SF as a consolation, but pissed about missing JL.
Noveller is worth getting there early for if you like pretty loop/wall-of-sound-oriented guitar compositions.
went to Evangelicals at Red and Black after Devo last night……such an amazing night  ;D

Devo maybe if I can get cheap tix
Langhorne Slim - tues
Jesus Lizard - thur
Wrens - fri
Any reports on the Dylan show last night?  Looked like a good list, esp. the Cold Irons Bound
Here's a reformatted recap I sent on Facebook today:

Pretty great show. Never seen the guy before, but all of the gripes people usually put out (mumbles, can't recognize songs, etc.) weren't an issue in the least. Sure he sounds like he's doing a bad Tom Waits impression at times, but that was a pretty killer set, I thought. Knew more songs than I was expecting…and that open combo was sweet. Dude seemed to be into it too; lots of miming at the mic and even a few songs with him on guitar.

Here's a setlsit I found online.  Can't vouch for it 100%, but it has all of songs I knew in the right order:

        1. Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again
        2. Don't Think Twice, It's All Right
        3. Man In The Long Black Coat
        4. Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum
        5. If You Ever Go to Houston
        6. High Water (For Charley Patton)
        7. Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I'll Go Mine)
        8. Forgetful Heart
        9. Cold Irons Bound
        10. Workingman's Blues #2
        11. Highway 61 Revisited
        12. Ain't Talkin'
        13. Thunder On The Mountain
        14. Ballad Of A Thin Man
        Encore:
        15. Like A Rolling Stone
        16. Jolene
        17. All Along The Watchtower

oh yeah, the wrens on friday too.
Im wanting to do something tonight.  Any good shows other than the Water/Deastro at Metro Gallery to check out?
Water is definitely worth going to see.

Have other plans so that counts me out. Too bad. Go and tell us how it was.  ;)

We gave you good directions so you shouldn't have any problems this time. Consider it a 'practice session'.
I will use those directions and hopefully find it.
any excitement from the dark star show show last night?  would love to hear staph war stories, such as the last time when the "pisser" was "live streaming" the show.

Had not heard much of it honestly, but to be honest, it was less the music and more "the show." They went on late, all looked like a drunken or drugged out mess, spent five minutes between songs deciding what to play next, Edward kept telling people he wanted to make love to the whole room, each and every one of us…

I could go on, and this might be his thing every night, but it is not my thing. Way too hippy for me. And while the music ranged from eh to ok, I can't for the life of me understand why the show was sold-out and people knew the words to most of his songs.
