This week rollcall

Bardo Pond's van got caught in the snow up north last night and they canceled.

Bummed me out that I couldn't make it until I'd heard.
Saw Mercury Rev/Dean & Britta last night - Dean & Britta started out on a great note until the speakers blew out. it went down hill from then on out.

mercury rev blew my mind away. damn that was incredible.

tues - quite possibly friendly fires
wed - stella (the comedy troupe)
thurs - the morning after girls

and sun - possibly matt & kim if my friend gets me on the guest list
no shows this coming week……am I missing something?
Come to the Hawkwind tribute thing at Velvet saturday.

Other than that, that's all I got.

There's that Dan Deacon round robin thing thursday/friday at sonar but sonar kinda sucks a lot.
Have not seen Beach House…love the last album. How are they live?

I saw them open for Grizzly Bear twice in '07 before the new album came out. I was underwhelmed both times.
Oh dude!

There's also this at the Lighthouse which I'll be all over:

Thursday December 18
-sun circle (dronedronedrone from greg davis and zach wallace of vermont and montana, "it's quite nice. Really some delirium-inducing stuff." -adam richards, foxy digitalis)
–bird show (kranky records, "…a primal drone that unites Vida?s obsessions - electronic hum, acoustic ambience and woodsy buzz - into one massive sound." - Marc Masters, The Wire)
—kokomo ("guitar + computer controlled harp. A little bit of gravity melting in your hand.")
—-echolalia (dc theremin magick)

Can't speak for the others but the Bird Show album that came out on Kranky this year is really really good.

Can't get into Crystal Stilts. And while I loved that Soft Circle album, he bored me to tears when he opened for the Boredoms.
Well I'd like to see Quasi and Marnie Stern!
