Friday: Sebastien Tellier/Lemonade @ 930 (B+), also saw Monday Michiru (of Basement Jaxx fame) at Bohemian Caverns (A-)

How was Monday Michiru – I see you gave her an A-?

Did you see her complete set before heading over to the 9:30 for Sebastien Tellier?

I saw her at Bohemian Caverns last year and really enjoyed her show, but the cover – already steep last year – was even steeper this time around, so I decided to forgo it.

I completely loved it! I saw her early set (she had an 8pm and a 10:30pm) and it was great. She did acoustic versions of Basement Jaxx's "Always Be There" and "Tonight" (the latter was a request). She's apparently never done those live in DC before. Her voice is great, and her solo stuff is totally solid! I'm gonna get her new album soon, and I'll let you know how it is.

Then, thinking of Cloud Cult/Ice Palace/M&NSS's - will this sell out?
I see they moved it to the main stage.  The last CC show wasnt crowded at all.  Not sure about Margots draw… So maybe. I wouldnt risk it if you really want to see them.
Yay. Called, BC, "should be fine" to purchase at door.
BUT if this is not true Sat., I have nothing to give and don't throw at me or BC.;)

Thanks for the info regarding Sharon…

Very good.  I didnt see any of the openers, but Cloud Cult were great as always.  They played a set featuring songs from across their back catalouge.  Only had one painter this time.  Sound was great, the best i have heard them sound,  though i have only seen them at their last Rock and Roll Hotel and Black Cat gigs before this one.

Also, the place was packed at the end of Margots set (when i walked in).  I got towards the front to watch CC.  by the time i headed towards the back, at the end of the show, the place was half empty…

Guess people just wanted some so and so action.  Or they were filtering out throughout, i didnt pay attention.  If you want the set list, i can post it later, I wrote it up on my phone.

Show score based on Cloud Cult alone = A+ Great Job!
that's understandable since Margot > Cloud Cult. I would have gone but the Beirut show ended at 10:20 and Margot's set was at 10:30…

My math works out the exact opposite with Cloud Cult > Margot (in musical output and not based upon who is more popular).  But thats just my taste.  I will say i do kind of wish i would have came a little earlier.  Margots last two songs sounded really good and i wouldnt have minded seeing a little more.
Don't mind Joe. He just says things like that in an attempt to garner more scenester cred. ;)

The same thing with the crowd emptying out happened during the '07 BC Cloud Cult show I saw.
