yup - those larger cans get too warm anyways
i like getting lost in the forest at merriweather.  and duckpin ipa, though i know not what a duckpin is beside a bowling term, but it was nice.  it better be for eleven dollars and that damn tip jar staring at you.

I went to Robert Plant on Monday and it was just kinda meh to me. The Post gave it a glowing review.

This is an interesting perspective because I also read that Post review and while I'm not inclined to travel out to the sheds, it made me wish I'd gone to see the show since I'd love to hear older Robert Plant belt out some Zep tunes.
Oh, I forgot, I'm going to New Order too.

I really need to see a band from the last few years soon. It's been 2.5 weeks of musical artists well over the age of 50.

I looked at the setlist and it was almost all zeppelin songs.  I am glad I didnt go.  I like the stuff he did with Allison Krauss…he should do more stuff like that.

this is where reading the byline comes in handy– and cross-referencing against a writer's other reviews.
HOly Ghost!  sunday.  :-*
I think I'll be at that Black Clouds show Saturday. I kinda want to see every band.
That is definitely a really good line up.  I am tempted to drop in for at least some of it…
giving away two comp tickets for Frank Turner at Fillmore Silver Spring, August 1st.
PM me
I'll be at the Black Clouds / Warchild show tonight.
I have a lot of maybes for this week.
Today - Potty Mouth, Young Trynas at La Casa (definitely)
Monday - Priests at Fort Reno (maybe)
Tuesday - Gauntlet Hair at Black Cat Backstage (maybe)
Thursday - Screen Vinyl Image, Motion Lines, Dead Pleasures at Rock and Roll Hotel (definitely.  I think this will be the biggest venue I have seen SVI at so far)
Friday - Melvins at Ottobar and then possibly head over to Metro Gallery to catch Ducktails (probably for Melvins, maybe for Ducktails)
picked up a ticket for new order on stubhub row l for $40…so totally going to new order tonight
Priests
Alasdair Roberts
Either Melvins or Dog Days noise fest
I am afraid that rumours of New Order's live demise have been much exaggerated…

;D

I can say without hesitation that I finally saw a New Order show that a) didn't suck and b) was just fine without Hooky. In fact, I've never seen them actually ENJOY themselves on that level. The Joy Division songs put a lump in my throat. What a perfect evening.
The show was great setlist wise. The sound was really poor - the base was too muddy, the keyboards weren't loud enough, and I couldn't understand a single thing Bernard was saying.

Also, the pit was completely still during Love Will Tear Us Apart, of all songs.

My friend I played a game: see how many Unknown Pleasures shirts you can spot at the show. We got there late and I got to about 7.
