What Are You Listening To?

http://pitchfork.com/news/43874-icp-on-jack-white-collaboration/

dare i say . . . i enjoy it.  i've heard icp stuff before and this sounds like them but not at the same time.  perhaps it is just the simple stigma that jack white's name is attached, so somehow it sounds as something else.
Wilco is streaming their new one for 24 hours. Probably over by the time most of you read this.

wow

M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming

fairly similar to his previous one, although it rocks a tad more (and the synths sound extra 80's-ish).  looking forward to the show.

don't bother

Boy this Purling Hiss album rules.  Most aptly named band since Comets on Fire???
I think one critic got it right when he called the new Wilco "dad rock" and the new Nick Lowe "grampa rock".

I hate to say it, but I may like the new Nick Lowe more than the new Wilco.

Braids - Native Speaker

i think a lot of people here will like this one.  they're being compared to animal collective a lot, but unlike AC these people are actually enjoyable to listen to.  their combo of female harmonies and general dream pop-iness remind me of school of seven bells at times.
Just heard their song on XM last night and I liked it.  Definitely more accessible than Animal Collective.

I am listening to the new Tori Amos.  You can make fun of me if you want, but it's her best album in 12 years. (except for the Cactus Practice song.  That one's a little much).
joy division love will tear us apart 12 inch single….
William Shatner

"Seeking Major Tom"

The musicianship, mixing, etc., is quite good; and Shatner is, well, Shatner.
Recommened if you like total bizarreness mixed in with good music. "Iron Man" totally cracked me up!
iron man is horrible.  what are you talking about.  lay off the catnip.

Ha ha! Try "Twilight Zone". That should crack you up. I'm totally straight but, damned, I sure wish that I was stoned out of my mind listening to this. What a blast that would be. Would make for a great Halloween party soundtrack.

Boots Electric "Complexity"

I hope this doesn't mean Eagles Of Death Metal broke up… to be fair, it does sound exactly like EODM. Probably becuase Jesse IS EODM. I dig the song! I hope new EODM is on the way though.
