What Are You Listening To?

The Clientele - God Save…

Just now getting around to this.

Pleasant.
The Sea and Cake - Car Alarm

This is leagues better than Everybody, that snoozefest of an album they put out last year.
Belong - October Language

Ahh…glorious swells of auditory gauze.

Good to hear! I loved Strange Geometry, but I also never got around to their new one. How do the girl's vocals fit into the sound of the band?
You know, I thought they were really pronounced on only a few tracks. They were a nice touch.

Just as good as Strange Geometry on the whole, IMO.
Six Finger Satellite - Law of Ruins

Forgot how awesome these guys were. Someone needs to tell Mr. Maclean that his disco shit has just about run its course and that he needs to get the ol' band back together
Seconded.

Animal Collective - Water Curses EP

And according to
this guy,
I might be a racist for liking it.

They are back together, sans Juan.

Wow, that review is ridiculous.

On that note, I'd just like to say I hated freak-folk before "thinking freak-folk was racist" was cool.
Easily the worst review I've read in a reputable music mag/website.

Well…maybe next to
this one
written by the same douchebag.

I think most of us can agree that Devendra Banhart is the worst thing to happen to music since heroin overdoses.
ChichaLibre - Sonido Amazonico

Wish I had given this a spin prior to their Velvet show. This stuff live probably made for a good time.
catching up on some albums:

[raconteurs - "consolers of the lonely"]

what an EP should be, a couple of solid pop songs and some rambling off-kilter stuff

The new British Sea Power is indeed great. It's nice to see other people like it as much as I do. :)

I've been listening to these albums a lot lately:

The Walkmen - You & Me
Oxford Collapse - Remember the Night Parties
Okkervil River - The Stage Names
The Wrens - The Meadowlands
Teenage Fanclub - Grand Prix
Nick Lowe - Jesus of Cool
Speaking of Okkervil River, the stand-ins is making the rounds.
Been spinning that one for awhile.

I wonder why their tour is skipping DC?

Yeah, I've heard it has, but I'm horrible with the whole bit torrent thing. And I still live for that "wait 'til release day like it's Christmas Day" feeling.
