I'm not in love with this EP either. I prefer the album versions of these songs. Don't get me wrong, the songs are still great. They just seem a bit more atmospheric with less punch. Still, I pretty much love anyone's version of "Some Things Last A Long Time."
Because everyone's on their edge of their seat waiting…

These guys seem to have evaded my radar until the recent discuss here came up. So far, it's pretty ass-kicking. May have to finally check these guys out further.

Harvey Milk "Life… The Best Game in Town"

First of all, love that cover. Second, this is pretty awesome. Kind of all over the place between stomping sludge, noise, and straight-up rock.

Wow, he sure does cover a lot of Scarlet Johannson songs.

Finishing up my eMusic haul:

I forgot how fun this album is. I had a CD copy years ago that I borrowed from my folks, but it's been missing for years, way before I went digital. Such fun…although years of watching Freaks & Geeks has forever associated that show with the title track. Still rocks, though.

Now onto:

So far, pretty boring IMO. It sounds like a not-so-interesting mix of later day No Doubt and MIA. Not bad…but I probably won't listen to it again.
Sir Richard Bishop - All Strung Out
Shellac - Terraform
Venetian Snares - My Downfall OST

I've had this forever but never got around to giving it a good listen until now. Incredible stuff. Maybe even as good as Rossz Csillag Allat Született.
Oneida - Pre-Teen Weaponry

Essentially a long sustained shape-shifting blast of psychedelic awesomeness (is that a word?).

I just got this as well and I like it. Haven't heard them before but kept seeing their name pop up.

Also downloaded an FM broadcast of the Verve's Glastonbury set and am enjoying that a lot. The focus, unfortunately, is on Urban Hymns songs, but it's still good. I am vigorously hoping for a DC date at the club and not, say, an opening slot for Blow Patrol and Cockerville River at Nissan.

Dapayk & Padberg - Black Beauty

I'll put my vote in as the best thing Americans won't hear until 2010. Every song is worthy of the dancefloor, and her voice is made of honey. I love them SOOOOOO much.

Another older one, well, mid-2000's…that I love:

Isolee - We Are Monster

Soooo amazing. I've been in such a minimal techno mood lately, and this is what I've been missing. It's really just a gorgeous, engaging album for anyone into IDM or minimal techno.
Wow…been years since I've heard that Isolee.

Maybe I should change that.
