What Are You Listening To?

The best Bowie live album. It has some issues but the first lp is the best live Bowie I have ever heard. And the Station to Station stuff slays….even the older stuff is different from the beaten to death earlier versions. Fantastic

I love this promo sampler which works its way back from crystal to transmission for the obvious reasons but also because it kind of makes the point that joy division and neworder were one and the same by including three joy division tracks. It has it both ways though because being titled 20 years of new order and coming out in 2001 means it should end in 1981 with Dreams never end. Never fully resolved. Either way greatest band ever!!!!
The New Eves - The New Eve Is Rising

proceed if interested here are thoughts from the smarter than I folks

The New Eve is Rising is as fresh as debuts get. While The New Eves' musical ancestry clearly stems from Patti Smith's Horses, The Velvet Underground and The Raincoats, their electrifying, commanding voice is very much their own.

and have as much penchant for sex and death as Nick Cave
(Qobuz)

Velvets-style drone rock, trad folk, anarcho-punk and hippy whimsy are all discernible in the Brighton quartet’s debut album – all played with white-knuckle intensity (Guardian)

as a side note to hatch they are not Welsh but rather from Brighton and yes there is flute, violin and cello involved…

so is that Z-rock hawaii any good?

didn't even know about this sounds interesting because when it was made during

week-long recording sessions for the album (which took place at the same time as the Chocolate and Cheese sessions
Well you really have to listen to it yourself but it’s basically a Ween album…at times a bit brown…must be on YouTube for streaming. I had to pay a pretty penny for this lp issue which is likely a bootleg but really high quality. Supposedly if you can find a record shop that carries it $30. But on eBay goes for $100.

Andrew Weiss produced this…even the cover reminds me of Ween
