In my personal opinion, the handful of covers I've heard are pretty darn limp wristed and won't get a second listen.

I like to call those the pre-cape wearing years. Man, they were a great band.
Prince- Crystal Ball

not the 3 or 4 disc set but a boot cd from 1990 with about an hour's worth of Prince outtakes

I dig some post-cape music from them (specifically Evil Urges).

Fujiya & Miyagi - EP1
The Time- The Time

have never listened to it.. this was virtually Prince's album but credited to the Time.. he did all the music…and you can hear him on backing vocals too…searing guitar solo on Get Up tears the roof off…… apparently he wanted to put out more music and this came out right at the same time as Controversy and before 1999….1981….

I really like "Cool".. its a 10 minute jam and Lisa does some backing vocals…
The Corin Tucker Band "Kill My Blues"

Not sure why all these girl bands are appealing to me but I'm liking it
jeff buckley - Hallelujah

why did he have to go swimming that night!
the video has 71million views!

still cherish the show he did at the old 930…this song just blew me away
