What Are You Listening To?

Van Halen II

for this name a perfect album that came out when you were 16 thing that's going around on bleech and bluesky, I initially posted Joe Jackson "Look Sharp".  While I definitely bought that album, upon further reflection 16 year old me would have easily bought VHII first and rocked it more then.

Same.

The Bunker Sessions - Yo La Tengo

what a treat!
Underworld - Oblivion with bells

It’s better than Barking but that’s not saying much…
Belle and Sebastian- BBC Sessions

The first three sides and sessions are fantastic. The last side and session has three out of four songs that aren’t Stuart singing and they are weak. No wonder they were never released as studio versions.

So 10 out of 14 are peak B&S with some fascinating differences from their well known and worn counterparts. Essential.

Am filling in gaps in my B&S collection.

all I know is I'm sick of everything my money can buy

man, why is Paul not touring?
…I guess these reissues are paying the bills

Actually regardless of mislabeling this is in the original glorious mono.

Red dot 🔴 label tells me I must have got this at Orpheus Records in Clarendon (2000s) from their dollar bin.

Essential
Echobelly - Everyone’s Got One

What a album

This has to be the best Beatles album not by the Beatles. A little more Paul than John though….
The I Don't Cares - Wild Stab

While going through my library, I came across a group called The I Don't Cares and was like wait wasn't this a Paul Westerberg outing.  Yup he and Julian Hatfield recorded this record in 2016. I had completely forgotten about this album.

Cool animated video from the album, with a nice nod to "Bastards Of Young" video at the start of it

was thinking this was the last thing Paul had released and remembered the four tracks he posted on Bandcamp as Dry Wood Garage in 2017.

and yes I plucked this from his wiki  another 8 song on SoundCloud of all places as
