Memoryhouse - Soft Hate
What Are You Listening To?
I been listening to the new Lucinda Williams double cd since Friday.. its about 85 minutes long and might have two-three songs that qualify as medium tempo rockers.. the rest is really slow. narcoleptic.. different kind of music but produces an effect like mazzy star….. the songs go on forever.. two great guitarists (frisell and leisz) on almost every track creating some nice atmospherics.. a good Springsteen cover..a Woody Guthrie poem she set to her own music….I guess the album kind of reminds me of Nebraska too
ANyways, surprisingly I'm kind of digging it..I usually dislike the slow stuff…. its an album that is going to take a lot of listens though to reveal itself..because at first listen its like one long slow song..
MY copy from Newbury Comics is signed on the insert.. does it make it sound better? no, but since I been listening to her pretty much since about 1993-4..its nice..

The Suffers …good stuff (they did take the best tracks from the EP)
certainly bummed that spring break has me heading to the sunny shores of South Florida when they come to town

Yeah I did the kickstarter on the suffers and they sent out the digital downloads today.. I do like bands that uses bandcamp for such things as I d/l the FLAC straight to the phone for listening on the commute. I'm bummed as they have pulled their first single from BC and I hadn't gotten around to getting it. Hopefully, they do a 7" single soon..
Speaking of new soul bands with strong a female vocalist, I'm digging Grace Love and True Lives from Seattle at the moment.
The Suffers
