Sound Opinions does a one hour dive into The Velvet Underground and Nico
Excellent stuff

Its in my queue!
Bob Dylan - Self Portrait

There are plenty of Dylan albums I like far less…never understood the criticism this gets

Finally found a copy with 360 red labels (one of the last as this came out June 1970..only the Terre Haute pressing plant used a few of these labels initially for this record) ..been looking for over 15 years…was beginning to think it didn’t exist

It did set me back $65 which is kind of insane but it was one of my white whales

new Phoenix: https://lnk.to/PhoenixIdentical

looks like they did the sountrack to Sophia Cappola's new movie (she's married to Thomas Mars), so i imagine that will be released at some point…
Van Halen - Diver Down

To me VH may be the sound of 9th/10th grade…it’s not what I listened to most but they were the most popular band at my school with many of the guys ….everyone wanted to be Eddie..The MTV videos….and it really takes me back to a place and point in time…of course at this same period VH gets rid of Diamond Dave and Eddie gets obsessed with synths and Hagar joins and brings in a different vibe..too many sappy live songs…In retrospect I don’t blame Sammy

Diver Down gets shit cause it’s short and has covers but I love it..

Didn’t realize Eddie and Alex’s dad Jan plays the clarinet on Big Bad Bill

It’s such a fun album!

Van Halen really had it going on during the David Lee Roth period

*too many sappy love songs

I kind of regret not going to any of the VH reunion shows but the way they froze out Michael Anthony just pissed me off and knowing all the hatred between Eddie/Alex and DLR just ruined the vibe…I mean I wait decades for the reunion and then they freeze out Mike? It was so lame

I know I would have had fun seeing them though..how could you not?

same…
I saw some great video of the Baltimore show that Randy filmed…DLR sounded like a dying cat
Stones 72 at the Forum

I didn’t realize this bootleg I have (one LP orange the other green) goes for stupid money..$400

Paying premium for poor sounding bootlegs is something I don’t understand…I doubt I paid $5 for it

Nice. That's an iconic label.

The only thing more hilarious than the price of those things are the ones that come with certificates of authenticity.  It's a bootleg ferchrissakes.
AC DC - Rock or bust

I just feel I know they were getting ready to put out a new album and tour…and then corona

Phil Rudd is so essential to their sound for me…

BRAND NEW DEAD MILKMEN

OMG

ITS HAPPENING AGAIN

I CAME.

^geez hard to follow that

Calexico - Carried to Dust

I like these guys sound but in limited doses..definitely transports me to Arizona
Obama's Summer Playlist… mainly because someone in the Qobuz fan forum had an all caps hissy fit because the service created the playlist on their site… Qobuz really is the streaming site for a certain demographic…
TOBACCO, never disappoints.

New song, with Trent Reznor, proves such.
I don't know about you . . . but I just fell the fuck in love, with Metz.
The third gleam - The Avett bros
quite enjoyable

Metz shreds so fucking hard. Excited for the album next month.
Love the first Metz lp. Like the 2nd. Kinda lost me with the 3rd.

Optimistic for a rebound next month. Great live band, too.
the new albums from Jyoti and Bettye Lavette.
