What Are You Listening To?

One of my favorite albums although now I can’t help obsessing about which songs Yule is singing lead.. his voice is so similar to Lou Reed (and he is aping him too)… I no longer trust my ears!

This really is a fantastic album, the Yule ones are some of my favorites
I didn't even know until 20 years of enjoying this album that he sang lead on any, I thought he was bass and did backing vocals
The fully loaded edition is so worth it IMO.  the different renderings of the same songs are great and the extras could make a full release

I have a soft spot for these guys but can only take them in limited doses once in a while…

I would have loved to see one of those legendary NRPS with Jerry/ Grateful Dead (with acoustic set) shows in the early 70s

Few bands got so high from such lows… a lot of this is so atrocious

It's throw away tracks, bsides, etc… What would you expect?
ok, not something I'd find myself listening to more than once, but not horrible
DEF LEPPARD - Personal Jesus
released 2020

Didn't realize that Steve Clark died 1991 mixture of alcohol and prescription drugs ( Clark contributed to over 90% of the music up to Hysteria)
but that would have been a time frame where I could have cared less what the boys in DL were doing

Reading Michaelangelo Matos' "Can't Slow Down" right now and just came across this:

Def Leppard [is] a Sheffield quintet so populist the made Quiet Riot sound like Pere Ubu.
another Sheffield band ^^  formed in 1977.

same scene produced Heaven 17, ABC, and Thompson Twins
Sleaford Mods
I was listening to Viagra Boys last night… interesting

Also a band called Shame

Now back to AC/DC PWR/UP which is just the bomb.. they really f’in showed me… never count out Angus and company

love the tag line on the GQ article
Sweden’s new punk-rock hell-raisers have made their name skewering toxic masculinity, die-hard sports fans, right-wing fanatics—and themselves.

Personally think that it's high time that die-hard sports fans are skewered!

The video for Sports is pretty great though. Singer gets nailed by a tennis ball during a match.

Kills me the original Express didn’t include either Holiday on the moon (in the running for greatest b side ever?) or Ball of confusion

Thanks by the way…just got a surprise record in the mail

Good thing I actually own both the Kundalini Express (w-Holiday on the moon) and Ball of confusion 12 inch records
Oh yah those 12” records are key… Holiday on the moon never sounded so good.. on the I guess remastered box set the guitar just doesn’t come in as strong..doesn’t have the same bite as I remember from the express cd you had or the 12”
Jon Bon  Jovi pulling his patented “a rainy night in soho” on here comes the sun
Black Pumas debut

Gotta give props to their PR team as their song "Colours" is everywhere… don't get me wrong Colours is a fantastic song, it's just everywhere… it was fun getting to see them on the inauguration last night and they were turning heads to be sure… the album is definitely one of the best i've heard in the last two years.
These guys were ready to bust out big time when covid struck

Adrian Quesada is a genius.

yeah remember seeing he was and still is a member of Brownout… those Black Sabbath cover albums are so good… didn't realize they were still active with their version  "Fear Of A Black Planet"  called "Fear Of a Brown Planet" and another new album last year called "Berlin Sessions"
