What Are You Listening To?

After a long break been digging into my salsa….records

This is a great one but the album cover in particular is a personal favorite…the story goes that the FBI asked them to take off the FBI from repressings which they did

I always think saying it’s a Willie Colon record does a disservice cause the singer Hector Lavoe is as much a big part as Willie
Willie Colon is one of the few people to block me on Twitter……I just tried to check his Twitter and lo and behold blocked…. I had forgotten… it’s been over ten years….guy seriously lost the plot many years ago… he just never recovered after Obama upset Hillary….
Paul Simon - Stranger to Stranger

Great album if you don’t need melody

The song “Wristband” is kind of funny - for those of us who go to a lot of shows and/or work shows- and also fitting in covid times

Black and blue

Charlie was a badass

I love me some Cal Tjader

He sure cut a lot of records…

Orla Garland - Woman On The Internet

checking this one after they did a twitter listening party for it and i'm intrigued.. wish i was better at RIYL, but i suspect fans of 90s female rock/pop will enjoy this..

second listen through on this one and am really enjoying this one

forgot to include that the song 'you're not special, babe' has a nod to Laurie Anderson's  O superman…  which gets kudos from me
Top 5 Miles album for me…

A good one

I have yet to fully get into it!

I keep reading your name as smegma-hatch and cringing.
Sorry this is the first LP…that was the second

The roach is here

Not sure about Jerry’s homemade artwork

Legend says Jerry was dissatisfied with the Sonics (compared to the reel to reel) and was so baked by LP3 he threw it at Bobby and it broke

Which explains why I don’t have the test pressing of the third LP

Yeah I think the consensus was this was a nostalgia money grab and true sonics fans were miffed
The original Sonics reunited briefly in 1972 for a live show at Seattle's Paramount Theater, with the recording of this show released as Live Fanz Only by Etiquette

I assumed you dug deep into the Miles catalog and that album is pretty much a standard Starsky! Dig in!
I don’t get Bitches Brew

That's awesome.  Europe 72 was my introduction to the Grateful Dead and I've been a devout follower of the band ever since.  I contemplated picking up the full collection of that tour when it was released a few years ago but it was a little too pricey.

You never know what that Hutch will pull out of his bag of tricks next.  Silly rabbit.
