What Are You Listening To?

Ok replace “body” with “being” if that makes you feel weird….

Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street

I never seem to tire of this one….if we are talking pure rock and roll albums and not including Argentine rock then this is probably my favorite one.

Shine a light!

How is this a deep cut!?

Gospel rock classic!!!
Bobby Keys!

Doesn’t get more rock and roll than his playing on Rip this joint!

(Regret not seeing one of his last shows at the Howard…bad move Serge)

Is shine a light a deep cut? I think a band like the Stones doesn't even really have "deep cuts."
Wut?

The deep cuts are the stuff not on hits compilations, stuff they rarely play live and that weren’t released as singles etc

For example the entire Black and Blue album other than Fool to cry

But YMMV

I don't know… I guess shine a light may be a deep cut for someone who's favorite stones' songs are wild horses and start me up.

I just assume anyone who knows/likes Exile probably loves that tune.
Fair

Not hip.
Fogerty was tight at the dar, if you are o. The fence you should go… he really is a legend
Nothing new - phoebe/Taylor

Did someone do a wellness check on Jules, as this is pretty damn good

Dang, that SNL performance was excellent too, enough to give one the vapors
The Flaming Lips - American Head

Wow had no idea founding member of the Lips Michael Ivins had left band….

Micah Nelson (Particle Kid) who is opening for Lips is now playing with Lips live. Yeah Willie’s kid

Still

Definitely my favorite since Yoshimi

Kacey is on three songs…the second track is like a modern Great gig in the sky

Unsurprisingly Wayne is showing slight wear vocally…

Maybe the most druggy album I have ever heard…the Pink Floyd references are everywhere

Nick Drake music I had not heard. You could knock me with a feather. Hearing him, alone, on guitar (or piano on Saturday Sun) on some of the Five Leaves Left material-without the majestic Robert Kirby string arrangements- is pretty special. The highlight for me are the versions of Saturday Sun on here; sublime. I knew the home recordings existed and heard Tamworth-at-Arden more than 20 years ago but had no idea about these including some BBC recordings.

I found the 2cd version at the record store for $9.99 which is a great price.

I gotta say if you love pre skeleton Cave you will very much enjoy the first disc.

Where are our resident Cave-ites?

I don’t know how these ended up as b sides/rarities… they are that good….and not much of that slow religious gooble gook

Going to dig into cd 2 later today

Foreign Object
one of my favorite british female singers released a new album today…. no NOT that one, so keep it down in the cheap seats

Bev Lee Harling
