A rare to me early 60s second press…why rare? Every other 60s repress I ever seen and there have been many has been in re channeled fake stereo featuring the ugly rechanneled stereo banner on cover

Maybe my favorite Miles cover

I do have an original mono
and here I thought you were talking about the fantastic valley girl soundtrack
also highlighting that I had been exposed to the Sparks decades earlier and didn't even realize it
We listened to that too… big fans

Trying to stay chill

Still chilling..now I feel baked

getting in the mood for the delivery of the long delayed SI Folklife hip-hop\rap boxset..
The Paid In Full(Seven Minutes of Madness) remix done by Coldcut is the more famous version of the Eric B. and Rakim's stone cold classic

but I came across this other remix today Paid In Full (Derek B's Urban Respray Version) that has both a John Cougar and Chuck Brown sample…  probably the only time they were sampled in track together..

Dang…I grew up on LI listening to them and do remember someone playing that version and haven't heard that in over 35 years
the coldcut version is still the penultimate song to get the crowd grooving hard, without a doubt…

Now that dub version of I know you got soul…sweetness.  Hadn't heard that
It finally arrived today so don't expect much posting from me for the next few days… and the book must weigh 10 pounds

Going down the rabbit hole of favorite Detroit area bands at the moment

so far Granfalloon - "A Proud But Meaningless Collection"  a local Prog Rock band i saw a bunch of times in the early 90s

Hello=Fire and Waxwings "Low to the Ground"  Dean Fertita is a damn pop genius

Lorde's getting some slack for sounding like lana on the new song…and I kind of agree
