Alcian Blue - Slow Colorless Stare
What Are You Listening To?
The Cure - the Cure

the stooges - the stooges
feeling my inner caveman tonight.
new p.i.l. - it's much better than the cover would indicate.
Pleasure Leftists - the woods of heaven

Height with Friends - Bed of Seeds
GRANTED I only listened to the first four songs of the PiL album, but those 4 songs were so incredibly terrible that I felt like it couldn't possibly redeem itself. All I heard was Lydon shouting and complaining atonally. Someone give me a reason why I should give it another shot. What do you like about it? I'm kind of regretting buying USMH tix if they're going to playing a lot of it.

george duke & feel
not normally a huge fusion fan, but this is pretty incredible.
apparently zappa on guest guitar, as he had just left fz's band.
saw mr. duke @ the clifford brown jazz fest a few years before he passed and his music and playing were just unclassifiable.
the New Order record is the best thing they have done- by far- since Technique (one of my favorite albums of all time)….they went major dance on it!…. Peter Hook is not missed at all…as I predicted years ago its quite easy to replicate his bass sound and lets face it: Barney was writing most of the music……Barney's vocals are straining a bit and the lyrics are even more daft than usual…at times cringeworthy..but that was never their strong suit….Curiously I think the first single is one of the weaker tracks and absolutely not representative of the album which is much more dancey…I'm guessing they released it as the single cause they didn't want a WTF reaction….the La Roux singer is on the record.. the guy from Chemical Brothers produced two of the songs…. Singularity is awesome..the other one is good but not as good… the track Iggy Pop speaks over is reminiscent of Elegia (the music that is)… the album also at times does harken back to Joy Division mainly through the drums…..
Its surprisingly good and I can't wait til they come to DC next year….Its in a different league than Republic (most disappointing album ever…broke my heart), Get Ready and Waiting for the Siren's Call…..
