What Are You Listening To?

The new Screaming Females is streaming on NPR.  Pretty great, but not as great as "Ugly".

Other than that, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.
Stiff Little Fingers

new one is really good
Bob Dylan "Tangled Up In Blue"

I don't know what possessed me to drive to cd cellar in clarendon this morning to unload some cds and dvds, but picked this up on green vinyl. 45 minutes to get there, 2+ hr. drive home.  Drivers were actually being careful and sensible.  Stay home, people.

Hutch -

I checked out 4 CDs from the MoCo library system.  I'm not particularly recommending them over other Art Blakey CDs, as I checked out what I could get.

1.  New York Scene
2.  Moanin'
3.  Night in Tunisia
4.  Miles Davis' Blue Haze, with a bunch of people including Art Blakey, Max Roach, and Kenny Clarke on drums, Percy Heath on Bass, and Horace Silver and Charles Mingus on piano(!).

I am often listening to them when I'm in the kitchen, so I won't comment further except to say I especially like #s 1 and 4.

Happy listening,

JQ

I listened to something by this guy, because King Tuff, who I would like to see, was opening for him, but I don't go to shows if I don't want to see the headliner.  I think it was Father John Misty's most recent.  I could not stand it.
tom waits..closing time

i had misplaced my lp… for so long i tought i didn't have it….

this album is a thing of beauty… talk about a musician coming out of the gate fully formed… he was what? 23? 24?

crazy
