What Are You Listening To?

I was a huge fan of The Virgins EP, for some reason I wasn't so big on their LP though.

For some reason I've had "Hospital Beds" by the Cold War Kids stuck in my head all effing day.

And that is what Im listening to now.
Squarepusher - Just a Souvenir

So so so so so so good.

Easily eclipses his last one which I loved as well.

Now he just needs to tour again. And if he does tour to support this album, he'd need a drummer. And Brian Chippendale is the only drummer right for the job; so many of these drum tracks sound like they were produced with him in mind.

This is tremendous. I haven't been a TV on the Radio fan, with the exception of "Wolf Like Me," but I have yet to hear a song on this album that I don't like quite a bit.
I just don't get TVOTR. I have seen them twice too. Will this finally make me a fan?
Acid Mothers Temple and the Cosmic Inferno - Journey into the Cosmic Inferno

I think this is AMT's third studio album this year and fourth over all (one live one). Don't know how they do it.
Me neither, and don't like the new album. They're like a Living Colour for the 21st century.

I've been trying like a dog to get into the TVOTR disc and am just getting nowhere with it. Which is odd to me because I took to Cookie Mountain immediately and really loved that one.

The new Mogwai is very good.
If you don't like it, leave it be. Why are you trying like a dog? Do you think you're SUPPOSED to like it, just because the critics told you you are? Or are you supposed to like it because it's hip, cool looking black guys doing rock music?

[raconteurs - "consolers of the lonely"]

meh.

totally agree… this outfit would be so much better if it were brendan benson & the racontuers, instead of jack white executive producing a bunch of his buddies… this line-up of talent is comparable of greatness along the lines of Big Star or Teenage Fanclub "Bandwagonese"… the mehness of this album was driven home today when i listened to the new Supergrass which has similar 70s rock influences and sound, but comes of like it was recorded by a band and not someone's ego and his paid henchmen.

edit… The ideal Raconteurs album would be the blending of White's and Benson's finest effort "White Blood Cells" and "Lapaco" with a dash of Greenhornes, what they end up with instead is second string 70's rock…

Because, as I said and you clearly missed or ignored, I loved the previous one and have enjoyed their previous releases as well. Plus, I wouldn't call their sound immediately grabbing, leading me to believe it might be a grower and if that's the case, it seems superficial and shallow to listen it for 2 songs and then decide it sucks. Does that make sense to you?
Yes, completely makes sense now.

Listening to the new Jenny Lewis and I like it a bunch.

I also just got the double disc of Stardust by Willie Nelson. Good Friday drinking red wine music.

Also have been enjoying Fleet Foxes and the new Martha Wainwright.
Holy shit that TV on the Radio is good. I wasn't a fan of the last one, but this one is awesome…
Have you been hitting the red wine a couple of days early?
