Politics and mud-slinging aside…that's a good disc choice.

it's some great stuff … the first track was so boring that i almost skipped the whole thing, but then the beats started to get laid down fast and heavy … i still hate johnny rotten's voice, but the instrumental music on this album is really incredible
You can preview The National's new album on their Myspace page.

thanks, but it really isn't my taste … i'm slowly making my way through pitchfork's best of the 70s and 80s lists, skipping albums i've heard a million times already (200 albums takes a surprisingly long time to listen to)
After this past weekend, the newest BellRays.

I fell asleep listening to this once in college. I had the worst nightmares of my life. I don't think I've listened to it since.

after listening to Public Image Ltd and This Heat, this album sounded downright tame (but really good!)

I bought this for the Willie Bobo track "Fried Neck Bones & Some Homefries" which was featured in the film VERY BAD THINGS. It also has Lowrider by WAR, an essential tune. 6 bucks for these two and more. I'd call that a bargain.

I finally, finally, finally picked this up and can't stop listening to it:

Panda Bear: Person Pitch
So far, the appeal of this record totally eludes me. Every song sounds like a 30-second loop of a Beach Boys outtake, repeated over and over.

It is most definitely the Son of Pet Sounds, which originally put me off. But as I continued to listen to it I quickly got sucked in and became somewhat addicted. Perhaps there's some aurally hypnotic bit of technology included on the disc. Yes, that must be it.
