What Are You Listening To?

A Place to Bury Strangers 5/26/08 Amsterdam

Nice to have a good sounding flac document of this band live finally.

Just wish the guy who taped it knew the setlist and tagged the files properly. Now they're showing up in my last.fm as "track1," "track2," etc.

the horror! the travesty! you're being incorrectly scrobbled, you won't get your HipsterPoints™! people will think you're less open-minded than you actually are! i feel a lawsuit coming on…
You don't know the track names yourself? And you call yourself a fan….
I do. It's just a bitch to have to do it manually.
And doing it now while I'm still seeding the torrent will fuck up the hash check.

Yeah, because fast forwarding the cassette tape, guessing at the breaks and writing the set list on the back of the cassette sleave was fucking breeze.

Unbelievable, these kids. They have NO idea…
I just have to say that "incorrectly scrobbled" is a pretty hilarious phrase.

i'm liking what i'm hearing on theirspace. production sounds a tad shoddy, but maybe they're going for a lo-fi aesthetic?

they're playing at the Black Cat on June 30. might have to add that to my calendar.

just listened to some earlier bootlegs (folksinger's choice & the gaslight tapes), now putting this on:

listening to this one now. obviously very great, but my favorite part of it is that the audience is clearly still viewing him as this pure and noble folk/protest singer and you can tell that bob's like, "suckers, just wait for what i'm gonna spring on you in the next couple years." best moment might be when he introduces "it's alright ma" and the title gets a laugh and he goes, "yes, it's a very funny song."
