The voices in my head (and they are getting rather annoying)…
What Are You Listening To?
Metz.
Ashamed I did not find out about them earlier.

hunch bettors - Splash-Dancing Kids (2011 EP)
I had never heard of this Danish band until a few days ago, and have really been enjoying the nice mellow grooves.
songs turned into muzak by switching from minor to major scales:
Major Scaled #1 : Metallica - "Nothing Else Majeur" - http://vimeo.com/24938649
Major Scaled #2 : REM - "Recovering My Religion" - http://vimeo.com/57685359
Major Scaled #3 : The Doors - " Riders On The Rainbow" - http://vimeo.com/24939393

An instructional song about Football.

Not what I was expecting from the people involved. Is that to the tune of another song?

god i love celebration. from the first album. i sure the kids listen to them for the first time nowadays and say . . . rip off beach house.
And Jag, of course! I scour the internet looking for only the finest noisy, psychedelic, or Dark music to make my daily commute less of a pain (and I try to keep it to cheap or pay what you will digital releases).
I like Celebration but i don't think they sound much like Beach House. Beach House is better but Celebration puts on a good show. We should have a best female singer of a baltimore band. As we have so many great voices in this town. there is some performance video where katrina ford and victoria legrand perform together in the parking lot accross from the charles.
You know you've achieved rock'n'roll stardom when you sell out the parking lot across from the Charles.
the Mogwai oeuvre

that chick from ponytail was pretty good
Bad Religion - True North

Villagers - Becoming a Jackal
An Irish chamber pop group that I just found out about, which means lots of that fancy arranging of instruments and such. This is their 2010 with a second which has just come out, which I'm also looking forward to hearing. Big fan of the chamber pop am I…

Got this on heavy rotation at the moment. It's one of the most amazing records I've heard of late. Certainly more compelling than that drippy faux-folk charting at the moment.

Elephant Stone - The Seven Seas
Another record I'm way behind in checking out, this is a 2009 album with Rishi Dhir (formerly associated with The High Dials). Lots of 60s British Invasion influences with sitar and other traditional Indian instruments.
this, pumps me up

joan jet and the blackhearts - hate myself for loving you
it's also the song used for Sunday Night Football's theme song, "waiting all day for sunday night" as performed by Faith Hill (vocal inflections are the same, also). so despite what joan may or may not have wanted, it's become the official song of football.
God bless you Sweetcell, I'm constantly wondering what the SNF theme song reminds me of, and its that damn Joan Jett song. I feel so good right now, like I just took a huge epic dump.
lots of scott walker, w/ and w/o his brothers
scott 4 rules - if you've ever seen 'the seventh seal' by bergman, you have to hear scott's musical take.

Adam Ant - Adam Ant is The BlueBlack Hussar Marrying The Gunner's Daughter
Boy George say via twitter - "The new Adam Ant album has shades of Dirk Wears, a hint of Cockney rebel, Bowie at his loosest and smatterings of T-Rex. Love it!"

Michele Stodart - Wide-Eyed Crossing
Now this is the kinda of singer/songwriter music with subtle touches of folk that stirs the soul.
