What Are You Listening To?

So I went into my kid's room tonight to put him to bed, and I swear he was lying EXACTLY like the cover of this album! I couldn't believe it. So now I'm listening to it.
Recording of MBV 6/24/08 that recently surfaced. May be the best MBV live recording I've heard. I can actually make out the lyrics to "You Never Should"!
Where is it surfacing? Is it another damn torrent? For some reason, I've never gotten hip to that.
It is.

But I can upload/link it here.
Matt and Kim - Grand
School of Seven Bells - Alpinisms
Pivot - O Soundtrack My Heart

"Make My Day" feat. Cee Lo is a fucking amazing song. Maybe my fave off the album.

I must say this frankensteined monstrosity that i always percieved to be a george martin cash in hack job is truly beautiful sounding.

It doesn't hurt to have a freaking great stereo to listen on….this thing was put together right.  A rare case of me wanting to seek out the dvd-audio version of an album.
Little Joy 'Evaporar'

I love this song.
fuck, these guys are fantastic … closest i've ever heard to against me!

Psychic Ills - Mirror Eye

I probably won't listen to this very often, but it's much much better than the 1.6 Pitchfork gave it.
Funkadelic's first album….

It's incredible.  You'll never listen to the CD version again.  I even skip it on the iPod…

Thanks for the heads up….
I really was shocked at what a wonderful addition to the beatles catalog this is.

Fuck Pitchdork!

I like it too but agree that it's not everyday listening. Very cerebrally Psychedelic. Their previous album, Dins, rocks more and is more accessible but I like them both.

Walkonby, you ought to check this out some smoke inspired night.  :P
I didn't know that it was mostly improvised before their review, though.  I'll admit I haven't listened to them before this disc…is this typical fare for them, sound-wise?

Ummmm, yes and no.

Don't bother with their earlier EP but I would recommend Dins if you like this. Imagine "Mirror Eye" meets the Black Angels.
I like Dins more but Mirror Eye is still very enjoyable and will have its listening moments.  I have actually fallen asleep to it a couple of times.

Lately, I have been blasting The Heads Live At 013 Tilburg non-stop.  Head pounding psych at its finest recored on a co-headline tour of Europe with the Wooden Shjips.
Their split 7" is awesome. I believe it was only sold on that tour. If you can find it I highly recommend it.
