It's pretty amazing how much female pop is coming out all at once. Avril, Katy, MIA, Gaga, Miley, and Sky with Britney coming up in a couple weeks. Too bad Rihanna is taking a break from her album-a-year routine.
Thus far I'd have to say I would rank them: Sky>Katy>MIA>Miley>Gaga
The Katy Perry is just straight up pure manufactured pop goodness but Sky (which I didn't like at first) has this weirdo tech-sleaze vibe to it, and no I don't really know what that means. MIA and Gaga just aren't doing anything for me, and I need to give Bangerz another spin but I remember not being too into it beyond the singles.
Thus far I'd have to say I would rank them: Sky>Katy>MIA>Miley>Gaga

The new Avril is amazing. Better than the last one although the two lead singles off the last one absolutely killed.
Loving the new Gaga, and I HATED the third one. It's so fucking good.
Katy has taken a step back on this record but its still tight.
Appreciate the love for Lorde, but I have a feeling it's going to unfairly be a one-hit-single-only record.
Cher Lloyd is really only getting play for one single, but that record is solid. My kind of 19 year old!

I personally found the M.I.A. interview on NPR pretty annoying. Oh poor you being "over shadowed" in the US by the author who wrote about being a boy soldier in Sri Lanka. It also says a lot when one's biggest hit involves a Clash bass line.
I like the Sky Eps, but at FreeFest she came of as either to cool to be there or bored. Plus, lots of effects on her vocals.

I pretty much hate Miley. But I did really enjoy her songs on SNL a few weeks back. Did a stripped down version of the songs
Have only heard snippets of the Morcheeba but it sounds great. Goldfrapp is total shift away the dance pop sound of late, to a sound not unlike Saint Etienne. Which is kinda of ironic given that one of their old singles is used in an ad at the moment.
