Yes it is.

Listening to LCD Soundsystem to commemorate the 2 year anniversary of the Madison Square Garden show (right up there with Nick Cave…)

you know its funny you say that because I'd put the LCD Soundsystem show I saw at MPP right up there with the recent Nick Cave show…

I think the Stooges at the 930, LCD and Cave shows may be the best three shows I've seen the past 5-6 years…but of course I've seen many great shows… but those come to mind…

That Stooges show was epic.
And now that a little time has passed I can easily say the Nick at Strathmore was the finest performance I have ever seen by him.  Quite a feat as the other 4-5 times were all stellar.  The guy works his ass off up there.
Agreed about Nick Cave.  I don't think I'll see another show like that for quite some time.

half hour later:  yes . . . very good.  so good, i will buy it now.  i enjoy how "ill buy it" is the new "it is good."
I was going to post this in the Bauhaus thread but it just seems to fit so much better here at this moment.

Listening to Walkie's link for The Knife. Ran across this photo and it worked so well I couldn't let it go without sharing it here. At least, for Walkie's sake. ;)

*Note: The record label is Rabid Records.
to keep up with the bat theme . . . and because i just watched the KILLER documentary on the powell peralta bones brigade

cowboy junkies

one of my staple bands
My opinion of the new Knife is still all over the place, but it's firmly in the 'tough love' category. I keep thinking, this is great but it's one of those albums I admire while never playing, but then I keep playing it over and over. I definitely skip the 20 minute drone track and that fucking god-awful fracking song – I don't even see the point of making something that unpleasant. There isn't the catchiness of their best songs but the atmosphere is so smothering that I really like it for late night listening.

But like so many double albums, this will become a blockbuster single album once I edit out all the overly weirdo crap.

you dont deserve to listen.  i hate the stupid opera album, but i listen to it and love it because it is the knife.  the knife or nothing.  you listen to it, you like it, even if you hate, you like it even more.  and you never ever say you have an opinion other than you like it . . . when it comes to the knife.
Dolls second one…

why oh why don't more bands play this kind of rock and roll?
I need to check out this "the Knife" band.  Sounds awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
I listen to music that I enjoy, walkonby, and even your dumb post won't make me ashamed. You go ahead and listen to a 20 minute recording of a vacuum cleaner and I will listen to and enjoy my edited version:
Tooth for an Eye

Without You My Life Would Be Boring

Hello Children on WFMU.

This has become sort of a weekly religious ritual for me.
Possibly the best pop show I have ever heard anywhere.
On until noon.

Tenniscoats->Spiritualized to start!
i will be listening to the new Phoenix album, which is streaming on iTunes, when i get to the office.
