Datetenryu - 1971

Random Japanese krautrock-ish album that I've been listening to a lot lately. Haven't been able to find any info on it, as it's long out of print.

Amazing, amazing sounding recording!
:) fun show indeed.
There's a lossless torrent of it on dimeadozen.org.

It sounds so good, they could easily release it officially without any studio mastery/tweaking if they wanted to/the taper let them.

It is an amazing sounding recording, and you'da'man for upping it. But… damn. For a guy/band whose last album was called Distortion, and was awash in it, this show is way too quiet.
All their performances are acoustic.
I attended their two shows in San Francisco last week. I must say that we are luckier than the NYC people because we get to see Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket) play "Scream and Run Away" (http://youtube.com/watch?v=WgkZXrtBWY8 - from the LA show).

Anyway, great shows if you are a fan of the band (and the 6ths and Gothic Archies)…

just listening to it right now, i really like the new album, but i was happy to hear the new songs as "songs" and not all whored-up

agreed, but the trying-to-be-cute-but-clearly-really-angry-about-little-noises thing gets really old REALLY quick … if you're going to be a crazy anal retentive artist and insist on total silence, just go ahead and scream at the coughing guy in the audience rather than being passive aggressive about it and saying "i have one ricola for the most persistent cough"
I'm listening to a mix CD from SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO that Mixmag released recently - now there's a group I'm dying to see perform their thang - (can't wait for the Justice show tonight !!!!!)
Surprised Jaguar hasn't plugged the hell out of this one yet:
