This is another winner from the Veils, making three:

About to check this out:

http://musicisart.ws/?p=2846#

The Covers of Nirvana Mixtape
1. Tricky - Something in the Way
2. Sophia - Heart Shaped Box
3. Straylight Run - Drain You
4. Cibo Matto - About A Girl
5. Rogue Wave - On a Plain
6. Hooverphonic - In Bloom
7. Ben Gibbard - All Apologies
8. Glasvegas - Come As You Are
9. The Polyphonic Spree - Lithium
10. Kristin Hersh - Pennyroyal Tea
11. Manic Street Preachers - Been a Son
12. Patti Smith - Smells Like Teen Spirit

Nice.  Thanks.
I didn't care much for the new Veils, though I liked #2.

The new Bill Callahan is pretty tasty though. Never been much of a fan, but he finally got it right on his 14th try.

Of particular note in this mix so far (not quite all the way through):

Sofia - Heart Shaped Box
Glasvegas - Come As You Are
Kristin Hersh - Pennyroyal Tea
Patti Smith - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Polyphonic Spree - Lithium

Generally this is very solid though.  Recommended.

Faunts - "High Expectations, Low Results"

http://www.thedeadweather.com/

Jack White-Drums and Vocals
Allison Mosshart(the Kills)- Vocals
Jack Lawrence(Greenhornes, Raconteurs)- Bass
Dean Fertita(QOTSA)-Guitar

Love the songs! bummed that I couldnt get tix to see them at the bowery. :(

Autoimmune - Meat Beat Manifesto

Cymbals Eat Guitars - Why There Are Mountains

This is pretty solid so far.  Reminds me of a fuzzier Built to Spill, to an extent.  Not sure how much staying power it'll have, but it has been worth a listen.
The forthcoming Tosca album, "No Hassle."

Interesting…  I've been a fan of Dean since he was fronting the Waxwings, I knew he was the fifth member of the Raconteurs but not about the QOSTA connection.
I'm a few years behind on Ghostland Observatory, but man, they're so good. I'm listening to Paparazzi Lightning on repeat.
I'm a few years ahead on Ghostland Observatory. The singer is managing the Hot Topic store at the mall in Austin, and the other guy is selling keyboards at the local Piano World store.
