What Are You Listening To?

Statements like that are why I like you so much. I'm planning on getting an album or two on emusic, but it doesn't look like the one you're listening too is on there. Any suggestions?

It hasn't been officially released yet.

Yellow Swans/Burning Star Core EP.

Not a split; they play as a 4-piece band and it's fantastic.

This is more of a what I will be listening to as soon as I get home… Didn't know this had come out.. The CD was mastered with actually records from Norm's Collection ala a mixtape. Closes with Bootsy Collins reading a poem written by Paul Heaton.

I'm really liking this a lot so far. I was only familiar with "Time of the Season." Total late pass, I know.

nice power-pop with alt-country tinges … debut out on sub-pop next month, looks promising
This is the ex-Band of Horses guy, right? I heard a few MP3s a while back and they weren't bad.

Right on, Econo. I love that record. I bought it a few years ago and was shocked at how immediate it was to me. Great stuff. I love the Zombies. Here is one I somehow missed:

Found a nice little surpise in my mailbox this evening. A friend mailed me a promotional copy of the new Bauhaus release called "Go Away White".

Giving it it's 1st trial run now. (Only on the 3rd song called "Undone".) That and the 1st aren't bad but don't knock me out yet. Need a few more listens though to be fair. The 2nd song, "Adrenaline", though had me rocking in a the good early Bauhaus kind of way. :D

My copy has the old traditional art school Bauhaus logo on the front and looks very similiar to this release but obviously different music altogether. At this point, have no clue what the actual release will look like.

The 4th song, "International Bulletproof Talent" is starting out quite nice and full of the old rocking dark Goth that Bauhaus is responsible for, except the '70s style chorus has to go.

-Edit-
Nope, the 4th song, (IBT), turned out to be a stinker. Hoping the other songs come up to "Adrenalin".
(Needs to learn how to use a message board)
(Mine is a legal pre-order that arrived 2 days ago! )

But yes, it's worth "ripping off." It's just that good.
