Shipping is expensive now. To ship a single record media mail is about $5.38. To that you add the cost of a record mailer which is about $.60-.80, tape and any padding.
It really sucks but $6.99 is not unreasonable.

You can get that $3 part mailed for $5 or you can drive 2 hours to pick it up locally, your call.

this may well be a shortcoming on my part, but i refuse to pay more in shipping for an item than the price of the actual item. yes, it's stupid, and no, i don't know why. it's something just can't grok.
it does grind my gears too, but I look at total price to evaluate

Which is great if your time is worth less than $2.50 per hour.

One time I sold a cd to someone three blocks away - on discogs- and dropped it off at his house. I think it was a Nick Cave cd
A few years later(actually just a few months ago) I buy an Argentine folk lp and it turns out it is the same guy (he notices) and he drops it off at my house.
God we felt so smart

The new Bob Mould LP absolutely shreds. He makes it seem so damn easy to put out yet another great one. What a joy to hear it. It's coming at a much-needed time for me.

Hey guys let’s have the “convenience fees should be illegal” conversation again! Haven’t played that hit in a while.

I had to buy this cause it was $3.96 new from Amazon. Delivery included. Well, $4.10 including tax. I think this is a world record for me for low price for sealed record from Amazon.
I am about 6 minutes in and wondering if it’s playing at the correct speed….

Liars are such a strange band. I really loved their output in the early to mid 2000s, but I'm not sure i've listened to an album since their self-titled. I think it's just the one guy now, right?
When they were the original four piece, I swear thirsty and i saw them like monthly at the backstage room at the Black Cat, always with The Apes.

Oh. My claim to fame is seeing the first Apes show at Velvet Lounge. I knew the keyboardist. She wore a cape. It was a bit too deep purple for me….

That's really cool! I loved that band, at least in their original line-up. I only just realized they (without the singer) still play together in some new band. Their drummer was such a joy to watch…just beating the shit out of his kit.

From the Millions of Records online store which has some deals once in a while
https://www.millionsofrecords.com/I ordered 7 LPs and 3 CDs for $60 plus $13 shipping and the cost of this one was $4.99 plus $1.30 (prorated shipping cost)
It’s a lovely record. Ambient classical comes to mind to describe it.
