I like the new Sleater-Kinney album! Totally understand why Janet left. She is barely on the album. I'm guessing they will bring in a new drummer or maybe prerecorded drums (kidding).

The other day I took my kid back to school thrift shopping and in addition to some lovely clothing items for both of us, I picked up these cd's:
Tom Waits-Frank's Wild Years and Bone Machine
As we were driving from one store to the other, I popped one of the cd's into the player.
Daughter: "What is this horrible music?"
Me: "It's Tom Waits, he's an American treasure."
Daughter: "He sounds like a pirate."
Me: "I think he would take that as a compliment."
My wife was also dismayed at the preppyish clothing I bought, proclaiming that she doesn't know who I am anymore.
