What Are You Listening To?

It's been a good week of new releases

HOW can I not have If I Should Fall From Grace With God on vinyl.. HOW?

some of my favorite music….a shame they broke up again.. a couple of Pogues shows every few years is really needed in my life…..I think I saw them four times at the 930 Club… saw Shane once at the Black Cat….a long time ago…
of course Chevron dying was a bummer….
Peace & Love was always my favorite Pogues album, and at one point in my life, it was in my all-time Top Ten. 'Misty Morning Albert Bridge' is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
cool tips on the new kpop, couldn't find all of it on google play yet will keep at eye out for them.   i found myself listening to some spice girls this week as i need all the well produced fluff i can find these days

not a huge fan of the kpop solo records but this one is growing on me… Taeyeon is a member of Girls Generation so it makes it's a good one

Kenny Burrell - Soul Call
Great Chuck Berry gray label set that I think might trump anything else other than the complete Chuck Berry box which goes for like $300….

I'm going to check out that Taeyeon record for sure.

It's hard to know when these solo albums are going to be any good. For example, when I see a cover like the Brave Girls album in my above post, I'm pretty certain I'm going to like at least some of the songs on there. But the solo albums can be so generic. On a whim, I got the below one and it turned out to be great. It's not full of club bangerz but it's got some great songs on it.

Mito Natsume - I'll do my best ? EP

impossible
Here are a few things I've been playing:

Depeche Mode – Spirit
I'd say this is better than I expected. It sounds like Depeche Mode…Dave Gahan's voice is spectacular. Yeah, I still miss Alan Wilder, but I'd put Spirit as better than "A Broken Frame" or "Ultra".

Real Estate – In Mind
Not nearly as strong as their other stuff. I like it, but I don't love it yet. And it's really, really meandering.

Anyone pick up the new Shins LP? Thoughts? I've kind of given up on them.

I need to get the new Jesus and Mary Chain.
I have heard the new Shins and imo, it sucks.

I was just about to post about Real Estate as well… pretty meh at this point, hopefully it grows on me by the time they roll through the club.

dude, there's like 30,000 shows available from the 60s and 70s.. why bother with 91?

i have some good ones too.. believe me.
Have to admit, the new Father John Misty record is pretty good, but I can't help but think it sounds like Billy Joel. But you know what, I can dig on some good ol American pop.

The new Jesus and Mary Chain album sounds like Munki, so if you liked Munki, you'll probably like this. I don't like anything apart from Psychocandy and Darklands, so I don't like this at all. Boooooring.

Listened to Real Estate once, it was pleasant. Will give it a few more tries.

Blanck Mass is some awesome horror movie soundtrack type music. By the time May rolls around, I'll be done with it, but in the meantime, I'm digging it.
