I remember buying this at the Tysons Corner Tower the week it came out …on cd of course….and being knocked out by it…Many years later I bought an original press with the sheet of stickers…. Many years later I sold it for $200 which seemed like good money but obviously a stupid thing to do… today I bought the reissue…I had a $10 off discount so $24.99. Sounds fantastic. Without a doubt his greatest work…inspired

I mean, it sounds like you walked away from the whole deal with a CD, a record and like $160, so maybe not totally stupid.

Yeah I guess it’s ok as the reissue sounds fantastic.

That’s the thing…I am buying a lot of new vinyl…tired of my scratchy old records…thinking of donating a lot of them…no patience to sell them…

10 CDs. Most expensive box set on a per disc basis I’ve ever purchased, but necessary for a weirdo music guy like myself.

Three LPs of outtakes including his Tamworth home recordings. Together with Time has told me 2 (one LP) these are the recordings the family gave Scott Appel.

Took a bin of records and dvds to goodwill….this coming year am resolved to get house under control…I figure 200 more bins and should be good

Of course couldn’t come away empty handed and for once happened to find something cool…a tango record from 1967 features my favorite tango singer on five tracks..Goyeneche….it couldn’t all be good news and record is a bit moldy…plays decent though and I have cleaned it and double sleeved it…

They are gorgeously done all around: sound and presentation.

Going to pick up the ones up my alley (mainly earlier hard bop)



I like this particular session cause it has Sonny Clark and Hank Mobley performing together.
