What Are You Listening To?

Can't stop listening to this album since the listening party

sorry i mean this album

^looks good, shame that TMG's are on this and JD doesn't do an updated version of the song
I know he hates it, but it's like my favorite TMG song
Hot Chip - in the dark
The singer reminds me so much of the singer from OMD

Cd5 of the love and rockets box set has the rare tracks some of which as big a fan as I am I have never heard and they are good

I need to clean my car bad…maybe even get it detailed after cleaning

Kills me the original Express didn’t include either Holiday on the moon (in the running for greatest b side ever?) or Ball of confusion

The tape I had in Argentina didn’t have Holiday on the moon.. sidehatch had the CD US issue which tacked it on..only reason I heard it about 94

I still think Express is one of the great ones

L & R don’t get the props they deserve

If you think back to 85-87 - pre alternative-when their three masterpieces came out there weren’t many bands doing what they did but they sort of been written out of the history.. I think they had an outsized influence on 1990s alternative

Supposedly, the new Dinosaur 🦕 Jr album leaked. Anyone hear it, before they wrangled it back in?

so is that your review?
Well it’s usually true that tribute albums suck but there is a reason for them

Sometimes you love an act so much you want to pay tribute and expose others..maybe newer generations to the music that meant so much to you.. it wouldn’t be art if artists didn’t put their own spin on the songs…but that can be jarring for longtime fans of the original versions

Bob Dylan put together the excellent Jimmie Rodgers tribute for this reason..even put it out on his own record label… he certainly didn’t do it for the $!!!
