What Are You Listening To?

Love this record.. and the cover.. good find of past few days was this original still fully in shrink…

and listen to Jerry's voice on this.. on the Dr John What Goes Around he reaches perfection..

I happen to love the covers but on the live sets they can get a bit long.

of course this record opens up with a nice cover of Chuck Berry's Let it Rock which hits the spot.

LZ III
Stoneground 3

LZ II   RL Cut in beautiful shape… I have four RL's.. I thought they were all in rough shape but this one is in great condition.. I note I bought it at Orpheus for $1 (the label has the infamous Orpheus marker red dot!).. Rick just didn't know what he was doing!

JB.. all these years I never realized that is Maceo right behind him on the right of the picture… this must have been taken just around when Maceo joined his band (1964) as this album came out that same year…good lord he looks young..guess he was just 21!

looks like someone had too much to drink last night.
^umm… no..but somebody did find his copy of Giorgio!

I had not realized this was the original design for this compilation which was Dischord's first 12" LP….

strange find mixed in amongst 12" dance songs and usual schlock at a thrift store…no insert alas..
I just rocked out to Who's Next and then followed that up with Live at Leeds…

man the Who used to have POWER!
adventures of mike bloomfield and al kooper….
^that was a good listen… bloomfield's stinging blues guitar leads are amazing (you have heard like them because they are all over Dylan's Highway 61 record)…

man I kind of wish I'd been around the late 60s.. its like they had amazing concerts every night.. on this one they played a few nights and you had guests like Santana, Elvin Bishop and Steve Miller and the bassist was John Kahn…. they really had amazing shows going on all the time at the Fillmore in SF…
Brian Setzer- Live Nude Guitars (LP)

I love Setzer… I so wish a Straycats reunion was so profitable they did one…I saw them once at the Jack Fest in Baltimore but its been too long and the set was kind of not a full set…
