on 4 track reel to reel from last sunday's dc record fair - sounds amazing, some "interesting" production choices - songs segue together like a suite, except you have to flip it over and re-thread it in the middle.
Jane's Addiction "Stop"
One of the few songs of theirs I like.

GBV's Bee Thousand LP (the Newbury Comics clear vinyl reissue)
magical; as it always has been….and always will be.
I've also been listening to the new Sleater Kinney….just got it yesterday….

easily found in most salvation army thrift shops - very nice.
vastly underrated player/composer - there is much more to his music than just "peanuts".
Late to the game on this album, but damn it's good…

New Decemberists
How is this? I gave up on them 2 or 3 albums ago, but I've liked the couple of new songs I've heard.
Milo Goes To College
My quick review of the Decemberist's record, is that like the new B&S album, it's a good record but just not one I'll likely listen to in heavy rotation like say the new Dan Wilson or Stereo Twins releases. It just hasn't hooked me in, thankfully it's not a concept album, just a collection of well written but not necessarily catchy tunes
The Cure "Close To Me"
Weatherband, Channel 5

The Ark Life - The Dream of You and Me
Described to me thusly:
"It's still early, but probably my band of the month. They're like Van Morrison meets The Lumineers with a little bit of Bahamas as well. Something for everyone."
Pretty good way to get me to listen to something.
More Chuck Berry
If you could distill rock and roll to one slab of vinyl.. if you absolutely had to…I think this would be it…very enjoyable first Chuck Greatest Hits compilation..first inclusion of "Back in the USA" on LP form…. and the original black label (which reads "Chuck Berry Twist" as the album was released for a few months under that title) sounds great…. it has the treble the original issues had…before they messed with the sound…

the most important question is, do they dress like they're traveling the Oregon trail? I'll take a listen, but I wish there wasn't a comparison to the Lumineers.
A lot of bikinis and flip flops along the Oregon Trail?
