Had never even heard of this artist and honestly thought it was some new hip hop act
decided to see what it's all about
Laura Pergolizzi is her name and been around for a quite a few years…working with David Lowery around 2000!
wow…some good stuff

Also did some light research. Some good stuff indeed. Saw the music video for "Lost on You" had a quarter of a billion views on youtube and assumed she was a huge pop act of which I was unfamiliar. Turns out she has been around a while and blew up in Greece a few years back. "Lost on You" topped their charts for roughly 7 months.
May end up attending.

really….?
devo-bop?
created for Walt Disney Records (with the participation of Devo), of child actors who sing, dance, and (in their music videos and photo shoots) mime playing instruments along to songs re-recorded by some of the original members of Devo
I bought a used cd (ice cube) and this was hidden behind the cube disc! Talk about a weird pairing
So the music is all newly recorded by Devo (classics obviously) and vocals seem to be by a fairly competent teenage female…interesting concept

also, LP is from the mighty suffolk county, NY, just like you and me Lev/Cholera.
That's awesome…I don't think I've heard of this album.

new, Holy Fuck, album. So glad, I discovered them, and looks like I will be seeing my first show at the RnR Hotel.
Amyl and the Sniffers
Did you catch them at U Street. Good show and good album, IMO

New Algiers album. I LOVED the first one, liked the second one a good bit, but this one is only ok for me so far.
Gun Club - Miami
Great stuff but could have been jaw dropping if produced by someone who knew what they were doing….
The cover of Run through the jungle rips
Great album

Another phenomenal artist and band sidelined by ambivalent production.
