What Are You Listening To?

i suspect that azaghal might like this one. personally, i might listen to it again but i won't be buying the whole album. i prefer a little more structure and melody to my music.

download "ghosts I" here.
The Jesus Lizard - Goat
Any David Sylvian fans out there? PM me for a special link.

Definitely the best album i've heard all year.
I've been listening to Resident Advisor Podcasts of late, partly to get a feel for what Minimal Techno is. So far Kevin Saunderson, Stacey Pullen, Underworld and Ron Trent. Looking forward to Alex Smoke, Joris Vroon and Digitalism.

Reading people's comments on these are part of the fun, in fact I believe Mr. Wallace is a fan of techno based on this comment posted for Ron Trent's podcast.

"I want my electronic music to be cold, dark, repetitive, hard, souless, funkless, and for most part completely electronic. "

While RA only has the four most recent podcasts on their site, the older ones are still available on the interweb ;)
its still sinking in - I think its decent - some good songs, other may grow on me - I think pretty much anything is worth an emu download at 25 cents or whatever a song

Is it worth the eMusic downloads?

New album from Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys and… some other guy (Miles Kane of The Rascals). It's good – not as viscerally pleasing as the Monkeys but it shows Turner has more tricks in him than straight-forward guitar rock.
No Age - Nouns

Pretty great so far.

Hooverphonic - The President of the LSD Golf Club

WOW! This is not at all what I was expecting when I downloaded this from eMusic awhile back. Always thought Hooverphonic was more of a trippy poppy dance music act, but on this record they have morphed their sound into an updated a 60's psychedelic pop vibe. One of the best records I've heard so far this year.

I don't know about the rest of the album - but that Numerology song makes me want to stab myself in the ear with a fork. XMU is giving it massive play and I can't stand it.

Hmmmm…very interesting. I like their older stuff, especially A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular, but am now curious about this new one. Thanks for the info.

Such a great album. Got a little buzzy last night, put this on the car hi-fi, got on 66 and next thing I knew, I was in Warrenton. A perfect impromptu drive to a damn near perfect record. Stopped for a new can of dip and put on the Muse compilation that Sweetcell left in my car last year (I just threw out your underwear, hope that's cool) and rocked all the way home.
