The Velvet Underground - Loaded
My three favorite Lou Reed albums are VU & Nico, Loaded and Transformer
I really don’t listen to the other ones…he made a lot of records people swear by that I never reach for
What Are You Listening To?

What, no "New York"?

I'm with you…there are good songs on some of the other releases
but these are my top 3 hands down
I really love the double album release of Loaded …Fully loaded
with the alt takes and Ocean (that it was never released is criminal)
and that great Moe Tucker song - I'm sticking with you
some of these appeared on VU (outtakes compilation album released in 85…their highest-charting album!)
Then a lot were re-recorded (poorly IMO) by Lou, but I think the originals are soo much better
well "Satellite of Love" is the exception…that was awesome on Transformer
also not talking about Doug Yule on loaded and Mick Ronson on Transformer is giving too much credit to Lou

don't love this album front to back
But these three songs are some of lou's best
What Goes On
Pale Blue Eyes
Beginning to See the Light
^ the 33 1/3 Transformer book is outstanding.
The 3rd VU is the one for me. Then Loaded, Nico & WLWH. The Super Deluxe sets are all worthwhile. I enjoy all the live sets but the one with Doug's brother on thunder drums just a little less so.

This is decent and free on Amazon prime right now
The Sacred Triangle: Bowie, Iggy & Lou 1971-1973 This inspiring rock-doc chronicles a seminal moment in the history of a musical movement: when David Bowie, Lou Reed and Iggy Pop were at a crossroads.
Some great footage and commentary
Did a decent job of piecing all the parts together and why these three made some of the most iconic music there is
Not the best, but it was fun to watch
^ I'll watch anything if those guys are in it.

Oh nice!! It's been at least 15 years since I've seen this, I need to queue it up.
I also am about 100 pages into the Tweedy bio, great read thus far.
That movie is horrible
What they did to Jay Bennett is unforgivable
I am sure Jay had his moments of being a douche but to frame the movie around that and make it about firing him
Who does that?
It’s fine if Tweedy wanted to get rid of him but to intentionally include scenes that cast Jay in an unflattering light, fire the guy and then put it out..totally classless dick move…that was some cold ass shit way to treat a guy who worked his ass off for Wilco for many years…

And I like Wilco and Tweedy (the bio is great)
But come on…if you don’t get uncomfortable watching that I don’t know what to tell you
I mean basically the movie has two very simple plot lines
1. Band moves on from Jay
2. Band plays record labels
It’s tough to see how one can separate the movie from 1

^ I squirmed a lot watching that. He made them interesting. They didn't really need the air all that dirty laundry. Hate to admit it but they've been boring the s*** out of me for years. I only get interested when Nels goes nuts. Even that has gotten rather predictable.
^ That last album was about as exciting as the cover.
G N' R Lies (b side)
Beach Boys - Surf's Up and Holland
Calamaro - Bohemio
Found cd after year plus…was in wrong case

2 and a half hours of just let it run fun
Good stuff…
but maybe I'm new to this, are the two slabs of vinyl for show and all the tracks are digital?
or do they have breaks that they can add to the mix,
or are they synced up with digital tracks so they can adjust the tempo/scratch?
