I was listening to the Avalanches second album. It’s just a great spring/summer record. Still ticked off they cancelled their entire US tour a couple of years ago (including the 930 show I had a ticket for).
What Are You Listening To?
Elephant Stone - Back In The Dream
Some of the best new psychedelic pop I've heard in a while, just a gorgeous album. "Going Underground" to me sounds like a long lost Belle & Sebastian song. https://youtu.be/siRFUwfwUE4
I would hazard a guess if you like the new Real Estate, you'll enjoy this as well

I found this article interesting.

It is interesting
It’s also pretty crazy….seems like he is ranking them based on a combination of what albums he thinks are good AND how happy he was during the recording and his memories but sometimes the best art comes from the worst circumstances.
But that’s fair as I don’t want him to just reflect the general consensus…
My two favorites are probably Fight Songs and Most Messed Up. It still bums me out that he was such a mess during Most Messed Up and that he went clean after it because I like the album so much and it almost seems like he is disowning it! Like he says in the article about their fans in general, most messed up was the first time I really paid attention to Old 97s after a long while….

I was so bummed out by Graveyard I never bothered to pick up 12. Christmas album is decent but no great shakes….
I might try to check out the 930 show September 19 but that’s a ways away

Confession: I don't think I've heard a note of the Old 97s.
