4PM DOORS
Tickets On Sale Friday June 18th at 12pm through Ticketfly.com

Not much of a festival if doors don't even up until 4 PM.

nope, doors at 2:30 according to TFly.

worrisome, IMO:

$127: Reserved floor and Main pavilion rows AAA-OO
$77: Main pavilion rows PP-TT and Loge pavilion
$57: Lawn

plus VIP packages @ $250, $325 and $625.  seem kinda spendy for a 2-stage, one-day festival with this level of talent.
For at least half the audience, this will be the only music event they attend in 2010. They can afford it.

Those prices are crazy.  Columbia got a bogus line-up.  57 dollars for lawn is insane.  I can't imagine anyone paying 127 dollars for row OO of the pavillion.  Gates don't even open until 4.  So if it starts at 5 that is 5 hours of music?
two Deadmau5 dates added …wow.

Perfect city for it. Could be interesting, wish they had started booking earlier as LCD, Hot Chip, Delorean, and Major Lazer would've been nice if they weren't playing Pitchfork or Lollapalooza.

Just to be bitter about this, that might be the 10th somewhat mainstream music festival Chicago hosts. We can't get one.
They have the fringe locked down too with Neon Marshmallow and The Wire's festival although I am not sure if that one is happening in 2010.

you don't consider virgin fest/free fest somewhat mainstream?  or not a festival?  (it's been multi-day in the past, hard to justify a free multi-day show…)

Sure I do, but it is at a shed 35 minutes out of the city. And that was only last year moving forward, before that it was in Baltimore.

All 10 or whatever the number is in Chicago are pretty much in the city proper and all generally public transportation accessible.
35 minutes away how dreadful.  geez if more people went to the dates at pimlico they would have probably expanded it instaed of turning into one day event,
