I like the new album a lot; in fact, I'm listening to it right now. I wasn't blown away by their Black Cat show to support Walking With Thee. The whole surgical mask concept is interesting for about 10 minutes, which might be appropriate because the show seemed like it only lasted half an hour. Hopefully now that they have a bit more back catalog, they'll play longer.

Wasn't this at 9:30 Club, with Interpol opening?

It was definitely the Black Cat where I saw them, and it was only about three or four years ago.

I was going to write that maybe they played the 9:30 Club, but that I doubted it, and I couldn't imagine Interpol opening, since I figured the 'Pol had been headlining ever since their first album. But whattyaknow! I googled it, and you're right. In 2002, Clinic headlined, with Interpol and Q Not U supporting. Good call.

that's a hell of a lineup
that clinic/interpol/q and not u show was a good show, and not a whole lot of people there, i was there for clinic, didnt know the other 2 that well then
Yeah, that was a great triple-bill. It was like a week or two after Interpol's first ep came out, the one with the original - and superior - version of PDA on it.

Clinic was better that night than they were at the Black Cat the following year.

i remember that show, too. that was probably the best time i saw interpol. there might have been 200 people there, it definitely was nowhere near packed. clinic were solid. i think they usually play 30-35-minute sets, btw.
