when showalter was here a few months ago, he was brilliant.
I disagree. His set at the Ottobar was funny, but he just sees more comfortable with sketch comedy rather than stand-up. And his best bits were essentially sketch material anyway. I'd say of the three (Leo Allen and Eugene Mirman), his set was the worst. Still, his mock-Eugene Mirman video was hilarious.
I may go again for Black, but I almost guarantee this won't come close to a Stella show. Those guys together are genius.

while for me, nothing will ever compare to the state (although stella comes close) i'm kinda fond of michael showalter's nerdy humour and delivery. i even watched the baxter twice this weekend.
