Just Announced

Well I'm in for London and Hamilton… Did consider Halifax and St. Johns because Kosmette has a good friend in St. Johns, but it was proving expensive to fly and lengthy to drive because the ferry takes so long.

Wonder what member number 86655 is good for these days…
My fan club number is 70xxx (don't remember exactly) and I've never done worse than third row. Been front row center at quite a few shows, too. I would figure that 86555 would get you front row, especially for the Canadian shows.

We decided to pass on the Canadian tour. The last tour (VfC) was so disappointing. Even front row tickets aren't worth the trek. We're going to Hillside in Guelph instead. Cheaper and better.

Hmmm…I feel almost opposite. I think they just keep getting better & better.

The VFC show I saw in Toledo was explosive (with Neil Young). If they had come back out for an encore and played Masters of War & Evolution I figured it would have been my favorite all-time seeing them (out of 10+ - including mid-nineties).

They are much better musicians now - McCready is probably the most under-rated guitarist in rock. The addition of Matt Cameron on drums has been a huge influx of talent - like godzilla keeping time. NOBODY out there can produce a live bootleg that sounds like they do - even minutes after the show. Their live boots sound like they've compiled & re-mastered an entire tours worth of prime bits.

That's my rant for the day. You may now go back to your regularly scheduled reading.

Those that rave about Weezer should not cast disparaging remarks.

I saw 100+ bands last year - including SXSW, Coachella, Curiosa (Pixies, Radiohead, Wilco, DBT, Cure, Interpol, Bowie, Prince) NONE were better than those "boring" Pearl Jam songs.

i was only kidding.

and please dont peg me for a Weezer fan. i hated them til last year and i assume i will hate them again sometime soon.

(and no, Pearl Jam is NOT better than Radiohead)
yes they are
NIRVANA SUCKS.

I know that…that's why I knew I'd get you with that zinger.

I can't get into a debate about PJ versus Radiohead. I believe they are 2 of the best shows you can see right now by an established band. 2 bands doing it their own way & arguably still getting better.

Re: Nirvana…for as influential as I thought they were (and the record Nevermind was) - I can't even listen to them. It's been years since I pulled out one of their records & I change the radio almost immediately when they come on.

Side note:
Weezer fans really irritated me @ Coachella. Self righteously suggesting that we should stay & see them versus going to see Secret Machines & Chemical Brothers.

I think it's probably part of the annual "celebrate fairfax" thing they do every summer. I think Better Then Ezra is playing the night before.

And she's lovin' him with that body, I just know it

That is NO LIE – I would LOVE this. Alas, it's same night as Old 97s at the club, and I've got a small crew going (plus, I haven't seen them before).

Now, it this Rick Springfield/Smithereens show could possibly be during the day, I'd be in hog heaven…

Anyone have a link?
