That price makes it sound more like a Birchmere show.

funny how the club doesn't announce its own shows here, not even a link to its tumbler announcements, despite the hundreds of people who visit JA every day… great marketing there, guys.

Why do the work when they have free labor in the form of you who will do it for them?

Not anymore…I never saw it. Do you have a link?
thanks!
Remember when Janelle Monae opened for Of Montreal at the club for something like $25?
Monae was fantastic but $75 is a bit nutty.

very cool - great to have him back!
very mature and classy - not embarrassing or cringeworthy like some of his peer group's recent efforts.
been a fan forever - still have my 'space oddity' 45 w/picture sleeve & 'diamond dogs' cassette.
only have seen him live twice - that moby show w/busta rhymes @ Nissan and his last show @ the patriot center a few years back.
here's hoping for another victory lap tour.
they just showed a short clip on nbc news 4 @ 5

true, but like yourself i'm not very dependable in my work ethic. they've had that tumbler for a long time now, and as far as i can remember i'm the first one to post a link here. if i was running this operation, i'd have someone post that sh*t every week as soon as the site is updated.
then again, if i was running the 930 club it wouldn't be as awesome as it is, so count your lucky stars.
I was at that show, and thought she was kind of meh.
Something tells me with that price, maybe it's some kind of benefit show?

Was wondering about that. The Roe anniversary may also indicate that.

My first show…with Screaming Trees (and spin doctors, but I left when they came on)
She was outstanding compared to of Montreal, who were horrible at that show. I remember being on the balcony and just watching people on the floor streaming for the exit. Three reviews were written about that show (Malitz for the Post; Jenkins for Spin; myself for Express), and we all trashed it. Absolutely horrible performance by that band.

I went the second night and skipped their set completely. Honestly, when your music starts to suffer due to your theatrics, it might be time to tone down the theatrics.
Plus, their albums have been shit since Hissing Fauna anyway.

Yep - my wife and I were absolutely floored by Monae's performance. She stole the show. I rarely leave a show early, especially for a headliner, but Of Montreal's set was abysmal.
