Just Announced

not sure i'd trek out to annapolis for Buffy but if was here in town i'd check it out.  big nostalgia value - my parents had several of her records, and i remember seeing her perform in ottawa when i was like 6 or 7.  definitely someone i hadn't thought of in years…
The fire-butted one saw her not too long ago and said that she still delivers.
Yeah, I'm hoping the Birchmere books her too. Looks like they have some open dates around the Rams Head one. Caught Donovan at the 9:30 a few years ago playing "Universal Soldier", would be cool to see the original.
Not sure if this has been announced but hutchy might like it  ;D

damn mid-week shows.  then again, i probably won't be here in DC that week anyways… anyhoo, this show get a thumbs up from me.  check it out if you can.  i saw them in NYC about 2 years ago and it was really impressive.  might even get kosmo's seal of approval: they do the "live electronica" thing.

on the upside, the above news got me to check out Bourbon St's website which revealed the following hidden treasures:
Monday, March 07 - ICE CUBE
Wednesday, March 30 - MIMOSA, with Special Guest DJ VADIM
Thursday, March 31 - The Easy Star All-Stars FIRST LIGHT TOUR
Sunday, April 03 - Peter Murphy (previously posted here, i know)
… and a whole lot of unrecognizable dreck.  who does their booking?  is that stuff popular in b'more?

also, i got a real kick out of their dress code. "no plain white t-shirts" - seriously?

i assume they have "club nights" with DJs.  maybe they had some gang violence problems so the clothing restrictions are meant to reign in the thugs?

Ed Schraders Music Beat W/ DOPE BODY,HEAD WAR, KOONDA HOLAA, JOHN MAKAY

I second Younger Brother putting on a great show. Very good at Moogfest 2010. I'd go to this one without hesitation if I wasn't already heading up to NYC for EITS at Radio City that night.

Okay, I didn't know where this was and no one else seemed to know other than Got Haggis having a very good idea, I decided to go straight to the horse's mouth, so to speak. Got this address from a friend of mine who is one of The Vandelles.

The Granfalloon Music Co-Op
1714 Aliceanna Ave.
Baltimore, MD

*Except that I think that should read Aliceanna St..
Ill definitely be there.  Havent seen the Vandelles since I listened to them from inside my tent at Farmfest last year.
