People forget Debbie Harry is 76!

………

You got to make allowances for that

If they ask for money I will make no such allowances. As a result, I am very unlikely to go see anyone perform at that age.

Buddy Guy is 84 and he's well worth the $ for his live performances

Exceptions to every rule, right? But I assure you the exceptions to this rule are few.
This is preposterous..if I like a musician I don’t like them only in their prime…everyone has to draw their own lines about how much age slippage they can take..some still shine even in old age though not as brightly and some don’t

I mean I saw Petty in 2006 and it was fantastic but as good as 1976? Of course not

Some of my favorite shows have been by people way past their prime

Johnny Cash at 930 in 1996
Iggy pop at 930 in 2007

I could go on all day
At the end of the day the issue is do they bring it not do they bring it the same way as in their prime

I don’t think Blondie does but if you are a fan you may get something out of it…

I saw James Brown at the 930 in the 90s and people I was with insisted he brought it while I disagreed..still glad I saw him once

let us all take a moment to remember how iggy and the stooges utterly tore the roof off the club that fateful night.  raw power indeed.

Probably the show in my life that I regret the most missing.

It was on Easter Sunday and that was such a killer.

very nice…and a friday too!
three night stint at the 9:30 isn't too shabby
to think I caught her at some house party with about 50 other people

Saw her open for Eternal Summers with maybe ten people in attendance.
One time she rang the bell in my house and proceeded to play a show just for me…this was back before anyone knew her

Fun time at Eternal Summers/S/Lucy Dacus last night ….
Good show all around. Lucy Dacus is a Richmond act very similar to Waxahatchee.  I wasn't familiar with going into but was a very pleasant surprise, played several different styles and was all around great. I turned up buying their LP. (HOBO SHOWS ALERT FOR HUTCH: Feel bad for the band, they apparently are dead broke, was openly begging from stage for anyone to drive them to Charlotte so they could make their next show.)

good thing you bought that LP, was the needle that launched her into bentelys and Bvlgari
I still regret not buying the pre-matador LP from her when she was at the merch table
