Some jackass at live nation thought it'd be a bright idea to change the names of a bunch of their venues to "the Fillmore" once they bought the original Fillmore in SF. Irving was one of those venues.
Everyone still refers to it as irving plaza, located at irving place. ive heard no one ever call it the fillmore.
and yes - ticket prices at irving plaza in general arent so cheap. but considering that bowery has switched over to ticketmaster too, those shows arent cheap either. and to make matters worse - you can only buy bowery tix at mercury lounge, during set hours (cash only).
irving plaza is the one place in general i avoid. just never was a big fan of it.
