and im freaking out about this too. Holy poo on a fucking stick.

How about that we have a fan rat on the boards!  I'm in Short Pump near Godwin HS.

Ewww you're in the snobby part of the west end! The further you get towards Short Pump the snobbier people get. I grew up near Whyndam and hated it. I moved to Parham and graduated from Tucker HS, it was meh. But now i'm at VCU and I love it. Dave how'd you think Prodigy was btw? They were awesome, and thanks again for the ticket!

As for MBV selling this place out…

It will probably sell out, but not instantly. The NY shows were at the Roseland Ballroom, and though they did sell out, I don't think it happened instantly. And that was in freaking NY! Also, another thing to keep in mind, this show isn't getting alot of advertisement before it goes onsale.

I know for a fact their LA shows last year took some time to sell out.
Not to further clog up this thread, but I'd like to say hello to Betao, as a fellow VCU student.  So, uh, hey.
oh and BTW - the national box office isn't open on Saturday, so getting these online this weekend is the only way to go.

I thought you guys said MBV was huuuuuuge. That they were going to sell out Merriweather, that they could headline a major festival, that they could sell more tickets than motherfucking Hootie in a Honkie Hat.

Instead, they're playing some 1500 capacity club in Richmond.

Have you guys overestimated the popularity of these guys, or what?

I mean, what size venues were they playing back in the 90's?

like one person said that.

I know it's a bit of a drive, but perhaps a harbinger of a DC date?

*ahem* The Cat's Cradle is not in Raleigh.  It's in Carrboro, adjacent to the better-known town of Chapel Hill (my hometown).

Pollstar shows the Jesus Lizard at the 9:30 Club on Thurs. 11/19 (as noted by Epstein in the Jesus Lizard thread).

There shouldn't be any logistics to contemplate here!!
the drive is probably over 3 hours for me (baltimore) probably closer to 4 with beltway traffic considering i don't leave work until 5.  I can't believe there is no DC or Baltimore show, very lame.

If I were unemployed and/or lived in Richmond, there would be no logistics to contemplate.

;)

I am a Tucker grad but probably before you were born (1974).  yeah I was there the day the gym collapsed.  There are some snobs out here but I am doing my damn best to put them in their places.  In case you don't know, never go to a show at Innsbrook After Hours!
i think i'm going to this show . . . to protest mbv for not doing enough for iran.
